Choose the right tool for the job. In this blog post, we’ll go through the range of Angekis Cameras and which scenario they’re best suited for. This is a useful guide for AV Systems Integrators who need a quick guide for selecting the best PTZ or ePTZ Camera for their integrations. This guide will mainly base itself around Room Size, but then at the end we’ll add a special note about Software, Connectivity, and Special Features.
Important Note: “Full Connectivity” means that the camera has USB, HDMI, SDI & IP video output, as well as PoE+.
Generally 10 to 15 square meters or so, Huddle Rooms usually require a single camera with a wide FOV and a simple audio setup.
Suggested Cameras:
This 4K All In One Soundbar with group autoframing, 4 built-in microphones, an 8-watt speaker, and a 120° FOV is a perfect plug and play solution for Huddle Rooms.
4K webcam with group autoframing, 2 built-in microphones, and an exceptional 120° FOV, all in a gorgeous, compact package. Combine this with in-room speakers and you have an excellent AV setup.
If you need a true PTZ camera for your huddle room, the Saber Light offers a wide 90° FOV, power over USB, and support for 1080p video @ 60fps.
From about 20 to 100 square meters, a true PTZ camera with 10X Zoom or higher will likely be required.
Suggested Cameras:
This entry level 1080p videoconferencing camera with power over USB, 10x zoom, and simultaneous HDMI & USB output @ up to 60fps is perfect for a quick and simple videoconferencing setup.
For larger rooms that otherwise require a relatively simple videoconferencing setup, the Saber U20 offers 20x optical zoom, power over USB, and simultaneous HDMI & USB output @ up to 60fps.
For greater connectivity than the Blade VS+ or Saber U20 can offer, the next level up is the Saber Plus. This camera boasts 12x optical zoom, full connectivity, and its 1080p video runs through a 4K sensor, rendering a much clearer image than most 1080p cameras. This camera is perfect for more complex installation scenarios, due to its connectivity options and entry level price.
The IP20X is Angekis’ best selling model, perfect for recording or livesteaming with with 20x optical zoom, support for 1080p video @ 60fps, and advanced connectivity options - including NDI|HX and Full NDI. This is our true workhorse camera because it can handle medium to large rooms and offers excellent versatility while maintaining an economical price.
For rooms approximately 20 to 90 square meters that require some special features, Angekis recommends the following products for consideration.
Suggested Cameras:
For applications that require 4K Video and Autotracking, like professional IP livestreaming and recording, we recommend this 4K camera with 12x optical zoom, a wide 80.5° FOV, full connectivity, built-in autotracking, and support for 4K video @ 60fps. Available in an NDI|HX variant.
The Saber AT is a next generation autotracking camera with 20x optical zoom, support for 1080p video @ 60fps, and full connectivity. Available with NDI|HX. This is our base PTZ model with Autotracking, and is suitable for large event spaces.
For rooms 100 square meters or larger, we’ll probably need multiple cameras with large zoom factors and full connectivity to properly integrate them.
Suggested Cameras:
Both of these models offer full connectivity and 20X Zoom, making them ideal for use in very large rooms.
The Ultimate Saber comes with 30X Zoom, 4K Video, Autotracking built-in, and Full Connectivity. It is also available with NDI|HX. This model can handle the largest event spaces and comes with all of the top of the line features you may need.
If you’re primarily going to be doing videoconferencing over Zoom or Teams, these platforms generally only support up to 1080p, so you might want to narrow down your search towards our range of 1080p models.
Some installations can benefit from the flexibility of Full Connectivity (USB, HDMI, SDI & IP video output), but you might not need all of that. Instead you might benefit from a camera that has fewer ports and can run power, video, and control over USB - like the Saber U20, Saber Light, or the Blade VS+.
Your integration might require Group Autoframing (Compact One, OneTouch), Autotracking (Saber X, Saber 4K+, Saber AT), 4K Video (Compact One, OneTouch, Saber 4K+, Saber X), or other special requirements like NDI (available on Saber IP20X, Saber AT, Saber 4K+, Saber X).
